Tofukuji – first generation blue rectangle
This is an authentic first generation rectangular shaped Tofukuji ceramic Bonsai container. A custom made box is also pictured and included with the purchase. The container measures approx. 5.24 x 4.06 x 2.56 inches and has cloud style legs. It is a striking blue which has been enriched by wonderful patina from decades of use. The bottom of the pot has Heian Tofukuji’s signature stamp. Please look closely at detailed pictures of the legs to note there were repairs. You may only be able to tell by the difference in patina. The pot has years of use including very minor scrapes, dirt, patina, etc. There are no major cracks on the pot.
Heian Tofukuji was a Japanese Bonsai pot maker born in Kyoto in 1890 who passed away in 1970. His ceramic containers are some of the most sought after of all Japanese makers, considered some of the best and most valuable glazed works from Japan. Tofukuji was revolutionary in his work, leading the way and influencing the majority of popular modern day ceramic artists.
Please examine all images closely before purchasing. Many of the items I have for sales have decades of use and may be dirty and small cracks or chips. I do my best to point out anything noteworthy, however it’s very possible I could miss something. Also, because frequently my contacts are in Japan, it’s possible certain subtleties get lost in translation. Finally color may vary depending on specific lighting. My intention is not to mislead anyone and I offer a full refund minus return shipping within six days of receiving an item if you are not fully satisfied.
