Gekkou Ito – hand painted blue mokko shaped w/ hand signed box & cloth


This is a hand painted porcelain bonsai pot by Ito Gekkou.  It measures approximately 6.5x 5.75x 2.05 inches and is in the Mokko shape. The blue and white painting depicts a landscape scene containing a castle near the water.  This container is accompanied by its signed Kiri wood box and signed cloth. Ito Gekkou is a second generation potter born in 1939 and continuing to make pots today.  Heavily influenced by the famous Yusen, Gekkou is famous for his Red, Blue and Multi-color hand painted works.  Gekkou’s containers are highly sought after and he’s won many awards in Japan.



Please examine all images closely before purchasing.  Many of the items I have for sales have decades of use and may be dirty and small cracks or chips.  I do my best to point out anything noteworthy, however it’s very possible I could miss something.  Also, because frequently my contacts are in Japan, it’s possible certain subtleties get lost in translation.  Finally color may vary depending on specific lighting.  My intention is not to mislead anyone and I offer a full refund minus return shipping within six days of receiving an item if you are not fully satisfied.
