This is a hand painted porcelain bonsai pot by Ito Gekkou. It measures approximately 6.5x 5.75x 2.05 inches and is in the Mokko shape. The blue and white painting depicts a landscape scene containing a castle near the water. This container is accompanied by its signed Kiri wood box and signed cloth. Ito Gekkou is a second generation potter born in 1939 and continuing to make pots today. Heavily influenced by the famous Yusen, Gekkou is famous for his Red, Blue and Multi-color hand painted works. Gekkou’s containers are highly sought after and he’s won many awards in Japan.
